From Pen to Gun

🖊️ From Pen to Gun: Where Has Our Conscience Gone?

There was a time when the pen wasn’t just a writing tool. it was a weapon of truth, a torch in the dark. People believed that words had the power to wake up societies, fuel revolutions, and bring real change. A single sentence could ignite the hearts of thousands.

But today, we have to ask ourselves—where has that power gone? More importantly, where has our conscience gone?

📱 In the Age of Screens, Are We Still Human?

Let’s be honest, if there’s an accident on the road, what do we do first?
Do we run to help the victim, or do we pull out our phones to capture the moment for social media?

Too often, we see people choosing the latter.
A human being might be fighting for their life, and instead of calling for help, we’re chasing likes, shares, and comments.
Even worse, many don’t even feel bad about it. It’s just another post in the feed.

🐾 Animal Rights Matter But So Do Human Lives

Being kind to animals is noble and necessary. But let’s not forget to balance our compassion.
In many Western countries, people mourn deeply when an animal dies in an accident and rightly so.

But the irony?
The same people may have no issue eating meat from factory farmed animals.
Where does that compassion go then?

🙉 “Not My Problem”  The Most Dangerous Thought

We’ve grown so selfish that when injustice happens around us, we pretend not to see it.
We say, “It’s not my problem,” and move on.

Whether it’s a wrong being done to someone, a corrupt act, or a moment where help is needed we stay silent.
Why? Because we think it’s easier to ignore than to act.

But silence doesn’t protect anyone it only allows the rot to spread.

🌳 We Cry for the Environment But Do We Care Enough?

Activists and environmentalists are crying out: Punjab’s greenery is vanishing. Our groundwater is disappearing.
But how many of us are actually doing something?

Some plant trees, yes. But most don’t water them. Some even uproot them for fun or out of carelessness.

How can we expect change if we don’t protect what we plant?

⚠️ Wake Up, Before It’s Too Late

There’s a saying: You can wake someone who is asleep. But someone unconscious needs a shock to wake up.

We’re not just asleep we’ve become numb.
We've forgotten that we are responsible for building a better society.
And unless something major shakes us, we’ll keep slipping further from that truth.

✍️ Don’t Pick Up the Gun, Pick Up the Pen

This isn’t a call to arms. It’s a call to awareness.
If we lived by the wisdom written with the pen if we actually practiced the values we preach no one would need to pick up a gun.

Let’s stop waiting for governments or authorities to fix everything.
We are capable. We can fix many things ourselves.

Change doesn’t come from the top down. It starts with you and me.
It starts in our homes, our streets, and our daily choices.

🕊️ The Time is Now

Let’s pick up the pen not just to write, but to reflect, feel, and reawaken our conscience.

Let’s become the reason no one ever feels the need to pick up a gun.
